Hello, I'am going to buy a gaming computer. But I don't know which processor I should take. Should I buy i5 4670 or i7 3820 if I'am not gonna overclock. And will I get higher fps if I overclock my cpu? So how much?

This is the specs I was thinking on.
CM Storm Scout II Gaming Ghost White
XFX ProSeries XXX Edition 850W PSU
ASUS P9X79 LE, Socket-2011
Intel Core i7-3820 Processor
Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 16GB
Intel® Air Cooling
Gainward GeForce GTX 780 3GB PhysX CUDA
Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB
WD Desktop Blue 1TB

Should I change anything?

I will not overclock so... Price is not the problem. I will just have to one which render fastest and will have highest fps ingame. So which should I take?

so get a motherboard like this, both of these options will overclock your CPU and RAM automatically for you and will do it to about 85% of what a pro could
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130686
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131830 there are a bunch more by asus that are good also this one has some really good audio feastures as wellas everything else

the MSI board seems really nice
then get for your CPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

if you really want the newest chipset then check out these combo and get the sabertooth or something
http://promotions.newegg.com/combo/13-2928/index.html?cm_sp=Cat_CPUs-Processors-_-combo/13-2928-_-http%3a%2f%2fpromotions.newegg.com%2fcombo%2f13-2928%2f118x118.jpg

also with both of these builds you can get some much faster ram like
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231589

this is fast ram but you can find better deals although the above is a good deal just expensive for ram.

If your not OC then you could either get a i5 4670 for about $220 or you can get a i5 4570 for $200. Newegg is having a deal with the i5 3570k. It goes for $195 so even if you don't plan to overclock you do have this option in the future.

It would take a tri SLI Titan setup before you would need an i7. i7's are for professionals who use there CPU at 100% all four cores.

if price means nothing then an i7 is great, it will do nothing for you in gaming today but it will add some to what your computer is capable off

Fps between the two will be similar, so price of the whole platform wins (4770k).

Not overclocking a system designed to do it is missing out on performance. A 20% OC is easily achievable on a $30 air cooler and requires exactly one change in the bios. Just food for thought.

haswell can actually be a little bit slower in some things. you can run quad channel ram with the z77 setup and it is very fast. both the 3 gen and 4th gen are really about equal. haswell offers some other benefits including that it is not a dead platform with nothing new on the way.

Really? So I don't have to install any programs or anything? When I've plugged everything in my case and turn it on it's overclock with that MSI motherboard?

just get an msi with overclock genie or an asus with its overclocking software. it is just press one button and 3 minutes later your computer is overclocked better than what 90% of people are capable of doing on there own and the overclocks are rock solid.

Okay, but can you help me to make the "perfect" 2000-2500 dollar gaming computer? And again. Thanks so much for the help. You're helping me alot.

can you break that down to computer parts and peripherals. also what is your time frame for buying the computer and lastly are you buying here in the states(no sense using newegg if you cannot.)

one more thing do you want to use MIR or not.

Okay. Will this work good together?

Corsair TX 850W PSU
Intel Core i5-4670K
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, Socket-1150
Cooler Master Seidon 120M Kjøler
Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 16GB KIT
Gainward GeForce GTX 780 3GB PhysX CUDA
Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB
WD desktop blue 1TB

If you can get the HyperX 3K SSD... worth it imo and an 80+ Gold Power Supply (~750W for single card or 850W if you plan to SLI). This will ensure your PSU is good for MANY build to come.

i like this ssd more.

if you want a cheaper one just go for the non pro one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147188

I also like the crucial m4 SSD's they do not perform quite like the samsung but they are rock solid reliable.

and make sure your ram speed is at least DDR3 2133. you could do a little lower but i find around this speed seems to help with allot of snappiness around the os.

everything seems good really,
that CPU cooler will be good enough but i would upgrade in the future

dont need 16gb of ram for pure gaming. save the money and go for 8gb then upgrade other components with the money saved. over 8gb is only useful for transcoding, video editing etc, most games barely use 4gb.

If you ever plan on going to 16 gigs then do it now. I always like to buy my memory in sets. there are also some additional benefits to having that extra ram like ram disks and less read writes to your SSD improving the speed and longevity of your equipment.
