Here I am again, with my second question to ask. The experts on this site were really helpful last time, and I'm sorry to require more time for my problems, but what can I do, I'm a newb at this.
In any case, let's cut to the chase. I was going to upgrade my system, but in the end I decided to instad get a new one, given that my old motherboard was pretty old.
My goal is to be able to run Battlefield 4 with a silky smoothness. Even on "low" settings, if need be, since my budget is not infinite.
Therefore, I would like to ask, what is a good, reliable, but not overly expensive motherboard that I should get, and what CPU should I buy in order for it to fit? I have selected a GPU, it's going to be the AMD HD 7870 XT, however the change in motherboard has left me hanging on the CPU side. I've got no idea indeed what is a good processor to choose, given that my goal is gaming performance (at least on a moderate scale), and the CPU depends a lot on the motherboard, and I know, if you'd pardon my language, jack shit about motherboards.

So, to summarise, as I seem to have talked quite a bit. I would be really glad if someone could direct me to a solid choice for a motherboard for a new system aimed at gaming (only thing I care about is good Battlefield 4 performance, don't care about Crysis 3 and the likes of it), with - hopefully - a possibility for future upgrading of the system. The GPU is certainly going to be the AMD HD 7870 XT. However, please help me out on the mobo selection. I am quite uncertain what motherboard would work well with what CPU in order not to get the GPU bottlenecked or anything.

As a minor side question, how much RAM is recommended to be placed on a "new" system like that?

(And as a side note, here are the specs of my current computer, if they are of any importance whatsoever. Mobo: ECS GF8200A Black; CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 545; GPU: NVIDIA GTX 260; RAM: 4GB DDR2, at about 800 Mhz, I think.)

Help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Gotcha - now I understand what you are asking.

The I5 is a great cpu. As far as a motherboard goes, Asus P8Z77-V (LK or PRO/GEN3), ASRock Z77 Extreme4 (free memory at Newegg with this one) and Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H are all good choices.

650w is more than enough to power the gpu, but without knowing the specifics of your current psu, I cannot tell you if is of sufficient quality. A quality power supply from XFX, Seasonic, Corsair or Antec would be a good investment - 550w or larger will be all you need.

With that setup, you should be able to run BF4 on fairly high settings at 45-60 fps without problem.

The budget is not determined yet, but let's say that it's around €600-700. I can afford more than that, but not too much more - something along the lines of €1000 would be a bit too much. And that's for everything, without any parts subtracted from the total cost.

No parts shall be reused, as it is my intention to have the current computer remain usable, given that I've decided to convert the upgrade to a completely new system purchase. Perhaps I could re-use the power supply though?, which outputs 650 W, though I don't remember the manufacturer or model, sorry.

Windows 7? (If this is a wrong answer, I fear I may have misunderstood your question... :p)

Please excuse my double-post, but is the Intel Core i5-3570K a good choice for a CPU that would work well with the AMD HD 7870 XT? That precise CPU seems to be with a fairly good price, overclockable (so it's a bit of future-proofing right-there), and with quite the nice performance for what I want.
If this is a good selection, the real question remains: What is a good motherboard that would integrate well with the aforementioned components, would not bottleneck anything, and would feature good bus speeds (if that's even a thing, heh). Please, give me your advice, I'm hopeless.
