Hello peoples,

I sometimes use the overdrive function that came with the AMD graphics driver on my pavilion g6 laptop, which overclocks my cpu to 2.3GHz. During some games however, the max core temperature would go up to and stay at 95 degrees celsius according to Core Temp 1.0

Do you guys think this is safe for me to do? Tj Max value for my laptop seems to be 115 degrees, so 95 should be fine right?

I'm using a A6-3400M too. For me I recommend u to use K10STAT. 'cause A6-3420 is design based on the K10 architecture and since the base clock is low (only 1.5Ghz stock and claims OC to 2.3Ghz by turbo for a single core, but if dual graphic is enabled the freq dropped dramatically to keep heat down) K10STAT can bring significant improvement to your performance.

Find it on the Internet, the version is 1.54 currently. As for me, I OC my freq to 1.8-2.0Ghz while playing game. Be sure to use a good cooling pad 'cause the temp could be high, and take a 5-min rest every 30 minutes while playing game to let the CPU cool down. For daily use, u could tweak it to 2.2Ghz to improve its respond speed.

If not so familiar with the...

The cooling on a laptop is borderline.
In reality the cooling was never designed with over clocking of the parts in the laptop.
Its obviously having a hard time coping with the overclock you put on it.
I would think about buying a laptop cooler pad for it if you intend to leave it overclocked.
Be aware that if it breaks HP may not provide you with warranty cover as you have exceeded the operating conditions of the laptop.

Generally 80 is a higher than usual temp. over 90 will be a bit dangerous and may affect the battery and cpu life. 95...my laptop will auto lower my freq when the temp reach 95.

When u are setting, for 2000mhz, I set FID 24, DID 2, Frequency 2000, CPU Voltage 1.0375V (or 1.0500V if the temp is fine), remember don't tweak the voltage too high. (1.0875 - 2300mhz is the limit or u'll find soaring temp)

Could you post the settings for 2300mhz at 1.0875 volt? Like what I should put for FID, DID, up and down % and ms?? I don't really know what they are. Right now I have them at (copied from the internet):

Using this setting, my core temperatures are around 87~91 during cpu intensives games. If I could further reduce the voltage it would be great, thanks!!

Plz give me your email so I can send your the picture.

Oops...seems u have messed things up...Don't touch up and down (% and ms) values, they are configured by the software. And the voltage...u'r killing your laptop...
