Laptop computer soundcards?

I am in the process of building a small home recording studio and plan on using my laptop as my device. But from what I understand you need a sound card for this type of stuff. My computer is a HP ENVY 15t Quad TouchSmart, and it just says it has a mic/headphone dual jack. does that mena my computer has a sound card or do I need an external sound card such as a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB Audio System with THX SB1240?

So would you not recommend the creative sound blaster? For someone on a budget what FIIO DAC would you recommend?

Thank you, I just looked at the FIIO E9 and I think that's what I am going to pick up. Thanks for the help!!
