xGB xxx-bit in video cards? (Newb)

What's more important when it comes to video cards? The 'xGB' or 'xx-bit'. I apologize in advance for my ignorance I really have no idea what either of these are. My friend says go for a video card with high bits rather than GB because the amount of bits is how much memory it transfers? I want to buy this video card to put into this desktop. Should I go for a 1GB 128-bit?

When it's this low-end, the amount of memory (in GB) doesn't really matter. The bits, well, technically that matters, but performance is going to be bad no matter what. The point is that you don't need much performance for regular usage, browsing or playing movies etc., it's mostly gaming that requires more. And low-end cards like that are bad for gaming anyway. Doesn't matter how many GB or bits you throw at them.
