In the last four or so days I've had difficulties putting my computer to sleep. It will simply hang as it shuts the monitor off and will continue to run with the fans moving and lights on. Two days ago I left for work and allowed my computer to run as a youtube video uploaded, when I returned I found the computer powered off and received a STOP error when my desktop loaded. We're experiencing some nasty weather, so I just chalked it up to a power outage (I just moved in and hadn't set the clocks on my kitchen appliances so I had no real way of telling.)
Last night I went to the living room, watched a movie, let the computer idle for a couple of hours, and came back to the same issue. This time I decided to read the .dmp files in Blue Screen View.
First, here are some of my current power settings:
-Balanced
-Sleep mode: never
-Sleep button: sleep
-Multimedia Settings: When sharing media: allow computer to sleep.
I've messed with these settings quite a bit over the last few days. The computer will sometimes hang when going into sleep mode, sometimes it does it just fine.Totally random so far. I've tried shutting down certain programs as it sleeps, then turning them on one by one to see if I can narrow it down. No such luck. Most commonly used are: Opera, Steam, AIM.
As for the dumps, here's basically what I'm getting. Apologies if there's some way to upload the .dmp files or more properly post them to the forums, I have no idea how to do so. Both instances seem to be the same:
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit
MSI B75a-g43 mobo
Geforce 670FTW Edition video card
Intel core i5-3570k processor
Coolermaster Silent Pro M power supply
It's been less than 24 hours since the last STOP error, but in that time I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to my video card, same with the wireless adapter I use. I sadly do not have a restore point before the issue had begun. I also scanned and repaired C:/. Windows is up to date. I scanned for viruses with Kaspersky and Malwarebytes, both of which say I'm clean.
Any help on what steps I should take or how to pinpoint the issue would be deeply appreciated. Again, I'm sorry if I'm presenting any of this info incorrectly, never had to make a post like this before. I'll respond with any updated information as it's needed.
UPDATE: I've just decided to zip the .dmp files and put them on rapidshare, hopefully that's kosher.
EDIT: Removed, apparently it's flagging as malware, which it's not, but obviously I did something wrong when tossing those up on the internet.
