Need help with PSU

hello TH

I recently bought a new system but i need help with PSU my Cooler Master K380 casing comes with a thermal master 400W PSU which i dont trust

CPU ci3 3.30 Ivy Bridge 3rd Gen
Mobo Intel DH61HO (Later i ll get Gigabyte mobo)
Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600 DDR3 (will make it 8GB later)
Cooler Master K380 Casing with Thermal master 400W (I dont trust this PSU)
160GB HDD Sata (old Seagate HDD)
HIS Radeon HD 7750 (Crispy new)
No Optical (I dont need 1)

Both thermaltakes and the xigmatek arent good. The CoolerMasters G series is rumored to be made by Seasonic(great manufacture) but I cant find anything concrete. If you could find anything from Seasonic, XFX, or Corsair you should be ok.

All of those are bad and more wattage than you need. Get a Corsair CX500.

Yeah, Cooler master does not send out their low cost units out for review. Why? Junk, that is why...

But yes, there is no confirmation of this. None of the G series have been reviewed by reliable sources.

Precisely, if they had just sent out a unit, then it would be fine, but since they don't, the only sites that review CMs cheaper units are ones that purchase it themselves. And all those end up being REALLY REALLY bad power supplies.

Sorry but thats just as bad as the last ones. Are you buying them online or at a local store? This list may help I wouldn;t suggest anything lower than tier 3.

The Corsair CX430 will power a HD7750.
The VS550 would also work.

well I m thinking about going crossfire when I get a gigabyte Mobo and corsair VS550W is it 80 plus certified or does it support over voltage protection & power failure protection?

According to the specs it has "Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and short circuit protection" but no 80 plus.

The VS550 should also handle crossfire, the CX430 won't.

The VS is an older model, so it is not 80 plus certified. According to some reviews I have read it does qualify for 80plus white qualification though. Its MUCH better than any of the other options. 80plus is not everything, reliability and quality is MUCH more important.

One more thing, DO NOT XFIRE the HD7750, its pointless and will be a waste of money, rather sell yours later on and buy a more powerful card.
