Seeking a wireless solution to reset a constantly freezing PC

Does any one know of a wireless reset switch for a computer? What I am looking for is a way to reset my computer when it freezes up via a remote or something. I have a Samsung TV and store all my movies on my PC. I use the PLEX MEDIA SERVER so my TV just has a Cat 6 cable running in to the back and does not need any other connection to the computer. But about twice a week it freezes up and since the computer is in another room I would really like a way I could reset the computer without having to go into that other room and hit the button. Does anything like this exist? I don't care if it runs of an RF Remote or if there is some sort of Android App I could use on my phone.

Now that you mention the Windows clock not working...Couple things.

1. If the minutes are right but the hour is off, and it works until restart then the clock is not set to the right timezone.
2. If its off my a random amount, then it could be two additional problems, one of which would also contribute to your PC freezing up.

The CMOS battery might be low, and need to be replaced. That would not contribute to your computer locking up though, and when you reboot your PC would have to re-recognize all your hardware again. The second reason is Dynamic Tick. Windows 8 allows the OS to stop the system clock while idling in order to conserve power (which is laughable considering how much power you're saving). There have been hardware...

I think we would be better off trying to figure out why it's freezing up in the first place, and what do you mean by freezing anyway? Like, does the connection just drop and you can't access it from your tv anymore? Does your samsung tv 'see' your computer when this happens? If this is the case..it may be that this happens when your DHCP lease expires and renews. I believe the max duration for this is 72 hours (3 days..or about twice a week). You could fix this by making your IP Address Static on your computer.

No it does literally freeze up. If I go to the computer it is locked up the mouse and keyboard do nothing. Plus the Windows Clock is not working. I am pretty good with computers and built the HTPC about a year ago. For the most part it works fine but every once in a while it just locks up. I will admit I am running Windows 8 so that may be the problem. Besides that here are the specs

AMD A8-3870 APU with Redeon HD Graphics 3.00 GHz
16 Gb Ram
110 Solid State PCI Boot Drive
12 Terabyte Raid Array
Asus F1A75-V PRO Motherboard

I have always used Asus and AMD and never had a computer freeze up this often.

There have been hardware compatibility issues though, and the side effects of it not working right are the system clock being incorrect and Windows occasionally freezing, especially while idling. To turn off dyanmic tick, type in this command in an elevated command prompt

bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes

Then, restart.

If this doesn't work, the issue might be some incompatibility with some other hardware or drivers.

Ok I have done that and now will just have to see. I have never heard of dynamic tick so I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't some hacker trick and was greeted with pages upon pages referring to exactly what you said about it causing windows to freeze up so I am keeping my fingers cross that this is the issue.

But that being said I would still like some way to remotely restart my computer. I am moving to a new house sometime next month and will be moving the computer to a rack mount set up in a closet that will also be a guest room. If in the event we have guests I don't want to have to enter their room just to reboot. I have an idea of how this could be done but if nothing out there exists I might just have to invent it and don't want to lay out the idea on this public forum.
