I am building a computer for the first time and I applied thermal grease onto the CPU for the heat sinks. I am just worried that over time the grease will seep into the CPU socket and fry it and my mobo. Is the clamp on a CPU usually pretty well-sealed and will the thermal grease dry?

Solution
The paste will get less wet, but typically never dry. If it didnt seep out when installed it shouldnt come out later. If you are worried check in a few days after use. They are fairly well sealed and once clamped on the paste becomes a thin layer.
