Last night I finished my first build and aside from the issues I'm facing now, things went well. For some reason, among other things, my system is only reading 24GB of the 32GB of installed RAM. Not quite sure why. I was very sure that my mobo was compatible with my selected RAM but maybe I made a mistake.

I am running

  • Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Asus P9X79 LE ATX LGA2011 Motherboard
    Corsair XMS3 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

Solution
No tRFC? Well let's try this, power off, unplug, pull 3 sticks out (slots 2,3,4), reset CMOS, install the 3 sticks you pulled, inserting firmly so they click in and lock the side clips by themselves, BOOT into BIOS (reset the date and time, enable XMP, select profile 1 (not 2), change DRAM voltage to 1.55, save exit and try booting into Win and see if all show.

I'm a bit a newbie, how do I make sure that I'm running the new est BIOS file? I installed all of the driver updates from my motherboard's installation disc.

Gonna turn off my computer right now and check the ram out. It seemed solid last time I was in there messing with other stuff but I'll check again.

Go to the mb vendor web page under downloads will be ones for bios files. Right down the last bios file name then reboot and go into the bios. On the main screen in the bios, most times on the top right will be the bios rev of the mb. If not some mb put a bios rev sticker on the biosl or near it. Asus mb the bios rev is the last digits of the ser number lable.

What set of DRAM do you have (model# please), was it purchased as a single package, two packages of 2x8GB or how), also chek and see what is set for the base timings, the DRAM voltage and look in the advanced/secondary timings and find what the tRFC is at
