Does the MSI 990FXA-GD65V2 support 1.35v RAM?

Solution

That is fine, some mods may consider it as spamming, so be careful and try to keep it to one thread where possible.

I'd be leery, many AMD mobos have trouble with low voltage DRAM causing you to run it at 1.5, which causes more heat in the sticks...about all they show about DRAM is saying they support 1.5 sticks, and being right on the ball, think this is one of their mobos that doesn't even have a QVL (as worthless as QVLs are, but still....nothing?)

But the mobo has dual channel memory. Wouldn't the mobo adjust to the voltage?

Dual channel has nothing to do with DRAM voltage.....The sticks are designed to run at 1.35...just took a look - the monbo specs say it supports 1.5 volt sticks...period...no QVL I saw to even indicate if they support low voltage sticks (and some just don't)...if it doesn't, then it will run at 1.5 which means overvolting the sticks and more heat...shouldn't, but could cause early failure of the sticks (technically, to meet JEDEC spec they should be able to run at 1.5, but low voltage sticks in DDR3 are for the most part, experiments by the DRAM manufacturers to help prepare for DDR4)....You asked , I simply answered, saying I'd be leery and explained the reasoning, in particular I am because it MSI which tends to have lower quality control than say the Big 3 (Asus, GB and the Rock) which is why I won't build on MSI

Yes, but the 1.35v stick is dual voltage.
