Okay so I bought this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125419

It has basically never worked. Every now and then it will play some games, but for the most part I wasted $200+. Every time I play a game, any game from King's Quest up to Far Cry 3, within the first 2 minutes to 30 minutes of gaming my computer completely locks up with a black screen. There is a loud buzzing noise that comes out of my speakers, if I look into my tower you can see that the video card powers down (fans stop spinning). Only way to fix the problem is to hard restart the computer, which gets me back to Windows and everything works as long as I don't game.

I've tried everything a person with average computer knowledge can do. Reinstalling windows, reinstalling all drivers for every piece of hardware in my system, downloading new drivers from different websites, maxing the card using the benchmark software. You name it, I've tried it. I've given up, unless someone has something new to offer.

My question is should I just throw in the towel and buy a new video card, most likely an nVidia one since I'm kinda over the AMD thing. Or should I attempt to use the RMA support through GIGABYTE. I've heard its a nightmare and they are just going to give me a replacement card which will most likely have the same problem. If you read the reviews on Newegg you wil notice similar problems to mine by about a third of the customers.

Any advice for a guy who has been unable to game for the past few months? Oh and which card should I look into getting? Thanks in advance. . .
