Hi I am new to photography and was wanting to buy a camera. I only have a budget of 200 dollars at the most, and I was wanting to know what would be a good camera to buy? It will be used mostly for outdoors. Any ideas for a beginner. Also If I can easily find it at stores instead of shopping online.

Maybe an slr but would a good point and shoot be better for a beginner?

That all depends on how much you want to learn about photography. The point-and-shoot will help with learning to properly frame a shot and experimenting with some of the functions such as ISO, possibly shutter speed and aperture. Learning these will not only help you take better shots but also show some creativity in your shots.

Than I'll get an slr but what would work with a small budget?

For $200 or less you could consider one of these:
Nikon COOLPIX L820 Digital Camera (Black): http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/918824-REG/nikon_...
Fujifilm FinePix S4800 Digital Camera : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/919913-REG/fujifi...
Olympus SP-810UZ Digital Camera (Black) : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/814917-REG/Olympu...
Samsung WB100 Digital Camera (Red): http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/888198-REG/Samsun...
You might want to read professional and user reviews of each to see the strengths and weaknesses of each. People who have actually used the camera(s) may be your best source of information.

An ideal cam for you could be something called a bridge camera. These are basicly a cross between a point & shoot and an SLR. Lumix and Sony offer some good ones...

A handy website for researching what to buy and comparing is www.snapsort.com. This site is made for people like you (and me!) who are looking to buy within a budget.

Anyway... Happy snapping! :)
