well i'm now totally disheartened when i came to know that the hd 7750 (my dream graphics card)won't be compatible with my intel DG41RQ motherboard which has pci-e 1.1*16 slot .ofcourse we all need some solid source of information to believe so i call asus for technical assistance on this topic and they told me that the card will be only compatible with 2.0 and above versions of pci-e slots ..i don't even know which pci-e *16 version my motherboard has .some says that it has pci-e 1.1 due to intel g41 chipset but its specifications and the asus technical assistants are telling me that my motherboard has pci-e 2.0 ..so i need an answer from a peson who has practically tested this card on intel dg41rq ..i've heard many maybe's so need a solid source of information .

well this is the first time i ever heard about it. AFAIK PCI-E 3.0 should be backward compatible with PCI-E 1.1. the problem you describe above only happen with PCI-E 2.1 although it can be fixed by updating the mobo BIOS (if there was one). i tried to find out more about you mobo regarding it's PCI-E configuration but i can't find it. but from intel own website regarding G41 chipset, the chipset indeed using PCI-E 1.1

did you already try the combination yourself?

no i haven't tried this yet thats why i'm asking all this cause i don't have that much money to waste money on a graphic card that isn't compatible with my motherboard .

asus technical assistance told me that its not necessary that if the intel g41 (northbridge chipset) has pci-e 1.1 then then the motherboard also will have a pci-e 1.1 slot ,if the pci-e slot gets it power from southbridge or even northbridge in other ways then it will probably have an pci-e 2.0 or above version .they told me that if theres a g41 chipset in their brand's motherboard then it will have a pci-e 2.0 slot.they suggested me to contact intel about this problem and get confirmed that which pci-e*16 version my motherboard actually have .so how to contact intel ,i'm from india ?

I've purchased an asus amd radeon hd 7750 1 gd5-v2 and its working flawlessly without any compatiblity issues ...and its working on my pci-e 1.1*16 mobo (intel dg41rq) and with my generic and cheap quality psu without any problems.
