Well, right now you are looking at either an Amd 7870ghz edition(some models fall just under 200) or an nVidia 660. Here is a helpful link: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/783?vs=857 Remember though that this is a regular 7870, not the Ghz edition which will bench slightly higher. Find the games you expect to play, and choose a card based on that. For either of those, this is what I'd choose.

7870Ghz: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100354... 200 after MiR.

660: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn660... 193 after MiR, with free game.

Thanks for the help Swordkd. I think I will be going with the 660.

Yeah, for BF3 that's the one I'd choose. The free game is just gravy at that point.

but there are like 5 other manufacturers of those cards and i picked one up at $205. if it gets to around those prices it is a big jump from the 660. much larger than from the tahiti LE to a gtx 760. which is the ideal card. but the good gtx 760's are $260

Yes, but you can't find them right now either. Newegg only has that one card currently. I found 2 on pcpartpicker.com . And for about the same price, I'd rather get the 760. Amd needs to drop the price of that card to 200 to find a new niche because they are getting hammered at the 250 dollar price point.

anywhere near 250 is way to much. i agree in needs to sit just above the gtx 660
