8gb of ram only 4gb are usable ?

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4046MB RAM
Page File: 2013MB used, 6075MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
there are my specs. I have just built the pc. I have removed and placed the ram multiple times and still get the same issue.

I have the same. I've found no way to fix it. Others report the same.

Have you updated your board ( MSI 970A-G45 )' BIOS to the newest version? They seems to increase memory compatibility : http://www.msi.com/product/mb/970A-G45.html#/?div=BIOS

Hmm lets try testing those RAM:

- Link removed for suspected Malware content -
- Manofchalk

Download the above, and after wards, run it and in the memory button press ALL. what number do you see ? it should grab all the usable free memory and utilize it for benchmarking

Is that number less than 4 GB or more than 4 GB ?

is your windows 7 legit ?

Where did you find this column? Available OS Memory: 4046MB RAM? from what page ?

Thanks, but it was my bios that needed an update. Thanks for the help though
