Will my Motherboard effect the performance of my Gpu? (PCIe 2.0 mobo + PCIe 3.0 Gpu)

So on my parts list I have a motherboard that only supports PCIe 2.0, and my Gpu uses PCIe 3.0. I know that with each new generation of PCIe the bandwidth doubles, but will this effect the performance of my Gpu? Would it be smarter to just downgrade my Gpu and save money, or would it be fine how it is?

Solution
Hey,

As others have said there will be no difference between the two. The only time you would see a difference is when running multiple high end graphics cards, so you have nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps!
