I don't usually turn off my computer as i just let it sleep. Sometimes when i try to wake up the computer (shaking the mouse), it just has a black screen and i just reboot and its all fine. This time i tried it, even after rebooting it still shows just a black screen. I dont see anything while its booting up, no windows logo, cant even get into BIOS.

I've tried multiple solutions already but none of them are working. I've tried to unplugged and completely unpower the computer and start it up. Taken out the memory sticks, switched them around. Tried to reset the CMOS by taking out the battery for a minute and putting it back in. Monitor is completely fine as ive tried it with a laptop and it works. I don't think its the gcard because i plugged the monitor into the motherboard's graphics port and its still not working.

The computer is only about a 1 year old.

Edit: Just swapped out graphics cards with an older much weaker one and screen still remains black. So i dont think its a graphics card problem.

Bump

After swapping out parts i think i've nailed it down to it being a psu problem. Instead of the 650w psu i tried an old 470w and just plugged in the 4pin and 24pin cables into the motherboard. However the monitor only turns on when i plug it into the vga port of the graphics card. I dont think that the dvi ports are faulty as i have tried both graphics cards andthey have both not worked when plugged into dvi. Does dvi require more power than vga? I'm pretty sure that 470w is not enough to power my computer but i would think that dvi would still be working. It could also be the dvi cable itself but i don't think that it is as i never touch the cable.
