Hello. I recently bought components for my pc : motherboard (asus M5A78-M LX 3), ram 4 gb, CPU (amd athlon x2 280 3,6 ghz) and the video card (amd radeon hd 5570 from gigabyte).I installed all the components in the case perfect but when i put my video card and plug the VGA cable in it the monitor isn't showing anything (It was in stand by). I tryed with my old graphics card (nvidia ge force 7200) and it worked. I unplugged the HDD to make sure it wasn't it to cause this problem. The weird thing is that the radeon 5570 works perfectly fine on my uncle's pc. I ask you guys what is the problem? The psu is Deluxe 450 Watts and don't think it caused the problem. I mention that the vga cable is not broken,he fits perfectly in the VGA slot and the video card is placed well in the PCI-e x16 2.0 slot (the video card is 2.1 but I don't think it matters).

Hi, i believe Your motherboard have integrated GPU and it can be some bug and system don't use Your 5570, first of all try to connect monitor to mobo VGA with installed 5570? Do You have output? Then try to update Your mobo to latest BIOS.

Also find a related setup in BIOS, something like "Initialize first graphics adapter" and there is something like IG, PEG... (Integrated graphics, PCI-E), choose PEG(PCI-EX)

Your motherboard has on-board graphics. You need to ensure you are plugging in to the correct graphics output. Also, on-board graphics are usually superseded and turned-off when you install an add-in board such as your HD 5570, but there are rare case when this does not happen correctly. You may have to boot the machine without the add-in graphics board, enter BIOS and manually disable the on-board graphics, and then proceed to boot with your add-in board.

Also, with the HD 5570 installed and the machine powered on, you might try the on-board graphics output and see if output is being directed there. That would confirm the need to disable it, although it never hurts to disable it either way.

@NoOneLt and @bigpinkdragon286 my motherboard has integrated video card. When i put my 5570 in the mb and connect the vga cable to the onboard video card it works. I changed the first video card to boot in bios to be the 5570 and it still didn;t worked. (with the vga cable in the 5570).

Then try to update BIOS and also like @bigpinkdragon286 suggested try to disable integrated graphics in BIOS.

I believe You are doing like this:

1. Cable connected to Integrated graphics
2. Load bios, update BIOS (optonally, first try just to disable integrated)
3. Do the changes, disable Integrated graphics, SAVE BIOS settings, SHUTDOWN system
4. Cable to the 5570, start up, should work

I updated bios once and it still didn;t worked. Maybe I have to upgrade it to another version?

Don't spend time changing the video card initialization order. Disable the on-board graphics altogether. If the sensing mechanism for an add-in board is malfunctioning, it will likely malfunction in the case of your initialization order also.
