I recently recovered from the dreaded BSY error on my 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 (Model: ST31000340AS, Firmware: SD15). Naturally I want to update the firmware to SD1A to avoid this happening again. However, when I run the update program and it boots into Grub it searches for available devices for a while, then gives the error:
Drive error: Command Type=1 ATA_ERROR=19 CMD=EC STATUS=50 ERR=00
The drive appears to be working fine.
Any ideas? Thanks

It's been almost 5 years of that BSY error, and now you are on it. Its a bit strange anyway as far as I remember the updated firmware has been changed long time ago, and I am sorry I forgot about the latest firmware. Search Google or msfn.org forum. Good luck.
