Hello, after some reading I decided to overclock my processor and after some testing I came up with these results: 4.3Ghz, 1.28V, 62.5C max temp. I have some questions about the overclock.
1.Is this overclock good?
2.I have the power saving feature on the mobo enabled but the CPU runs at 4.3ghz all the time. Will this harm it or reduce its life?
3.While testing, I noticed that the Clock of the CPU isnt constant. I am using intel burn test and sometimes it went down to 3.9. The motherboard is Asrock P67 extreme4 gen 3 and I have Intel SpeedStep and PowerSaving mode enabled. Is this normal?

It turned out that the high performance windows profile didnt allow my CPU to downclock. When i set it to balanced, everything was ok. Do you think that I will experience any performance hit because of the CPU downclocking itself?

There are different approaches to overclocking the 2500K, some like all the throttling features enabled, (Most energy efficient), some like some of the throttling features enabled, (still using the Turbo Boost), and some like the pedal to the metal all cores, (which yield zero energy savings and all the cores running at the overclocked settings and requires the best cooling options to run a stable 24/7 clock).

You need to decide which overclocking route you desire to take in relation to the cooling you'll be cooling the CPU with and use a guide designed to get you there.

Most running a good aftermarket air cooling solution can easily run 4500mhz around 1.325v CPU voltage.

CPU Cooling directly affects how high a CPU overclock you'll successfully run and I see no mention of what you are cooling your 2500K with?

We want to help you in your overclocking endeavor but not at the expense of your system, just throwing numbers your way not knowing if you're still running the stock cooler, is dangerous for you, so what after market cooling solution do you have on the CPU?
