PSU fan should face down. Make sure that the computer case's bottom air vent holes are not blocked by something like carpeting or a rug. The computer case should be sitting on a bare flat surface.

The fan on the PSU is an intake fan.

It shouldn't cover all of them, just two of them.

You may be able to use a low profile left angle or right angle SATA data cable if you can get any.

SATA data cables are what you use to connect a SATA device to the motherboard's SATA ports.

There are also SATA power cables that connect the SATA device to the power supply unit.

If you don't connect the SATA device to the motherboard's SATA port how do you expect to use it?

A SATA device (e.g. hard disk drive, CD/DVD drive, SSD) must have both the SATA data cable connected to a SATA port on the motherboard and a SATA power connector from the power supply unit.

How many SATA ports on the motherboard are you using? If you're only using two of them then use the two that won't be covered by the graphics card.

What is the exact ASUS model number of your motherboard?

FYI: The PSU can go either fan up or fan down. Sure, fan up is going to suck heat off your graphics cards, but the PSU is fairly heat tolerant. If it overheats (which I doubt), it will shut down. If you're putting the PC on a carpeted floor, mount the PSU with the fan pointing up.

Personally, I have my PC up on a shelf and have the intake fan pointing down so it can suck in cool air.
