I'm looking to purchase a Intel Core i7 - 3770k 3.5Ghz CPU which is roughly around 229.99. But then I keep coming across a Intel Core i7 - 3770k 3.5Ghz "Ivy Bridge" which is slightly cheaper.

My aim is to play Arma 2/3 and other simulators on very high and enjoy the future games coming out which were displayed for PS4 and XBOX ONE.

So what difference if any would the Ivy Bridge bring for me? Is it worse? better?

Solution
"Ivy Bridge" is merely the particular line of processors. Much like a 2012 Ford (Ivy Bridge) vs a 2013 Ford (Haswell).

3770k is the relevant ID.
