catalyst quick working

I have a VPN connection and when I try to open it I get a message that Catalyst windows has stopped working and it's trouble shooting. I still can't open it when the trouble shooting is done. How do I fix this? I am NOT a computer genius, so explain in laymen terms please

By Catalyst, do yo mean AMD Catalyst for your video card? The troubleshooter tool is most likely trying to repair drivers.

To make this simple, try this:

Use this official utility from AMD: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx.

Follow the prompt and remove all existing amd drivers. Your screen may flash. This is okay.

After uninstall is complete, install auto detect from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx. This program will automatically detect your video card and download the appropriate drivers.

Catalyst troubleshooter will not reappear.
