Intel Core i5 3570K vs AMD FX 8350

Hi Guys ,

I am making a box on which i will be installing Virtual Machines running Server 2008 , Sql Sevrer , Win 7 etc .So i am bit confused between Intel Core i5 3570K AND AMD FX 8350 , which should i go with . I will be installing tools like config manager and cloud managemnt toolson these virtual machines as well..
Please lemme know which one of these will serve my purpose and will not burn my pocket also .... :)

Both of them will serve your purpose.
The FX CPU however might be more suited to your needs.

Well, as far as I know, VMs and some of the other tasks you want to do work better with more threads/cores, so the FX8350 (an 8-core CPU) would probably be better for you. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will jump in and correct me.

i no AMD fan but i second what SlitWeaver said. server, VM's, etc do benefit from having extra core so the FX-8350 would be better.

The 8350 is currently the most powerful CPU is the FX series. If you want a better one, you'll have to wait (unless you want to get some Opetrons or something)

I'd save some money and go with the 8320
