Crossfirex at x16/4 worth it?

I have 1 2gb HD 7850 graphics card, and im planning to buy another 2gb 7850 for about $230, Im using Asrock 970 extreme3 with crossfirex suport x16/x4 config. Will there be a little performance increase in my gaming or should i upgrade my motherboard too to any x8/x8 or x16/x16 to feel the effect of dual graphics card?

buying a better single card would be the route to go.

I wouldn't bother cross firing.

I wouldn't cross fire on a 4x slot........... doesn't mean other people haven't but.......................

do you have processor enough to run 2 cards?

No point in getting a 2GB card. CF uses the lowest memory across all the cards.

I'd still suggest selling your 7850 and getting a 760 or something.

Oops... I must have sort of glossed over the bit between 1 and gb.

Stupid me.

Still, he'd likely be better off selling it and getting a single faster card.

1. No, x16 x4 steenks.

2. CF is not working to anyone's satisfaction at the moment.... hopefully this will be remedied on July 31

3. Keeping ya MoBo and upgrading to a 760/770 would be the most cost effective.
