system wont turn on

Ok so i read the sticky, and i've tired everything i could think of. I just built a new pc and it wont turn on. the mobo light is on but nothing else when i press the power button. i triple checked all the components and everything seems to be wired correctly.

my build:
AMD FX-4300
asus m5a97 le 2.0
Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01
NZXT Apollo Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
750w psu that i got from my friends old build
geforce gtx 660

If there's no response at all when you press the power button, then I would suspect that the following may be at fault:

1. You forgot to connect the power switch...

1. You forgot to connect the power switch, or connected it incorrectly. It's embarrassing but it happens to everyone at least once.

2. The contacts on ATX connectors aren't always constructed all that well. If your friend's PSU is cheap, has been used for a while, or has been connected and disconnected from motherboards repeatedly then one or more of the 24 pins may not be making proper contact. Try playing with the connector a bit. I have an old PSU from Thermaltake which has this issue.
