Recently one of my RAM stick was having problem and causing tons of BSOD so I took it out after testing each of the 4 RAM. I'm currently using a z77 board so theres 4 RAM slots and i use 3 RAM sticks atm ( 12 GB total ). I would like to know that why does it affect my performance? When doing the windows experience index with 3 RAM , it says 7.6 for my RAM and when I use only 2 stick of RAM , i get a 7.9 score. Also I tend to hang a lot on youtube when using 3 stick of RAM , its either adobe flash player hanging or firefox hanging. Does using 3/4 RAM slots really cause more problem as it is only suited for 2 or 4 sticks of RAM?

Two of the sticks are operating in DUAL channel and the third 4GB stick is odd man out and is single channel mode, this is more stress on the MC causing a drop in performance (haveing to deal with both single and dual channel in one channel, best off with 2 sticks or going to a 4 stick set

Recently I started having tons of BSOD crashes when I have 4 sticks of RAM in the computer , currently I took 2 out and am left with 2 inside the computer using slot A2 and B2 as told in the motherboard manual. What are the possibility of my motherboard being faulty? I already got a new set of RAM ( 4 x 4 GB ) but the BSOD crash still existing if i use all 4 slots. I doubt it is anything related to GPU, CPU, SSD and Hard drive. Currently running 2 x 4GB and not having crashes so far.

This crash happened overnight so it means theres a high chance my motherboard RAM slots died overnight?

I did reset the bios to default setting which I have to set the RAM back to 1600 MHz from 1333. I recently did a memory controller test using intel software on their site and found that my i5 3570k's internal memory controller has no issues at all. XMP was already enabled since day 1 when i had 16 GB , then it started having issues since last Friday , around 1 year after I bought my computer. Last Friday i used 2 x 4 GB after thinking it was RAM Issue and i wasn't getting any BSOD just some occasional slow in programs and hang. Then i RMA the RAM with corsair and placed the new kit of 4 x 4GB in and the crashes started coming back. If I use only A2 and B2 slots ( 2 sticks of RAM ) , will have no BSOD other than the occasional slow in programs and hanging.

Currently I'm still using 2 x 4GB but I really would like to be able to use all 16GB without BSOD. What are the chances it has to do with the motherboard now?

What is the actual set of DRAM, the model #, were all 4 sticks in a single package or is it two packages of 2? If a single package of 4, and 1600 or better, enable XMP and select profile 1 and try, if no joy, once you get me the model # we can try adjusting the voltages and if need be the timings
