Is a 3ds xl worth it?

I already have a 6 year old ds that still works but I have played it for 3 years lol. I haven't played pokemon after diamond and I wanna pick it up again, I want a decent game to play besides my computer. However my new pc is coming and it's amazing. And I'll be spending most of my time on that. So is it rly worth it to buy a 3ds xl just for pokemon, especially the upcoming x and y (I won't buy Any other ds games)? Or keep my ds lite and just buy heartgold, black and black 2? I can barely buy heartgold if I buy a new system.

Edit I just don't like my ds' small screen but I don't see any benefits ATM for just 1 native 3ds game. And nothing on the 3ds interests me over my gaming pc except for x and y which comes out in October.

Speaking from personal experience ... I wan't sure about the 3DS XL at first either. I did however end up getting one as it can play all the DS games as well as the 3DS games. It's a bigger size, fits well in my hands a lot better than the previous DS models and feels more comfortable than they did as well. The bigger screen in my opinion is a plus and while I thought I would play it for only Pokemon games myself I have gotten a few other games as well because the library is pretty good.

If you are in fact thinking of getting it just for Pokemon that's probably okay if you don't have a 3DS already. If you do have a 3DS then it's not going to be worth it for you. Since my previous Gameboy system was the Advance SP from launch day I can say I'm pretty happy with the 3DS XL.
