Hello,
My Brother recently asked me about getting a camera and I, the tech lover, looked it up a bit. Now I'm not too familiar so I decided to ask the very intelligent community about what they think. He's looking for something, easier to use, point and shoot maybe or compact? He was interested in an SLR too. So, the budget is $350 tops, but $300 is much more realistic.

More about : camera 300 350

The Nikon 1 J1 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/823580-REG/Nikon_...) might be worth a look. One of the nice things about this camera is interchangeable lenses. $299.00

Another one to consider is the Olympus E-PM1 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/808142-REG/Olympu...). It also gives you the option of changing lenses. $299.00

For more of the DSLR look the Fujifilm FinePix S8400W (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/962968-REG/fujifi...) may be worth considering. $312.00

Thanks, I'll let my brother know about it but it would be much more optimal if they were on Amazon. I'll look into it regardless. Thanks for responding

I'm sure they are available on Amazon as well. I only used that site as a reference and because I have had great experiences with them.

I'm sure they are available on Amazon as well. It was easier to do a search on B&H since I am more familiar with their site and that's where I buy. I hope your brother gets something he will enjoy for quite some time.

Got my Fujifilm FinePix S8400W, and it is the BEST DSLR I have owned, the ZOOM 24 - 1056mm (35mm eqiv.) and it is so good that I was able to use the neck strap to help stabilize the picture at the 44x zoom, and what a result, the other night I took a series of 50 pictures of the moon at different settings, Manual Mode on the camera is great, Even got some great moon craters without a tripod or support. the camera will even let you take full HD Video, and 3D Pictures. Fantastic Camera, will take 64GB Scandisk SD ULTRA cards, and best of all 4x "AA" (Batteries) I recommend the Energizer Lithium.......very happy $408.00 (H/N) for camera, and $155 for SD Card.
