I can't open my hard drive.

I removed the internal hard drive of my old dead laptop. Bought a cable so I can connect via usb to my new laptop. But the problem is when I try to open the hard drive it loads really slow and then crashes Windows Explorer. Can somebody help?

Exactly what do you mean by cable?
You actually need an external HDD case to do this!
Could you be more specific on the details... thnx JQ

Have you tried another data/power cable? Have you tried it on another computer? Another cable to consider using is one like this USB 2.0 to SATA Adapter Cable available at Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1HE0NX4695). I use a similar cable (different manufacturer) to connect the extra laptop drives I have.

Side note: It's never a good idea to double post your question and it's against forum rules.

I don't think using an Xbox connector is going to help you here.
Xbox is a propriety system and you're trying to patch a HDD from a laptop to another laptop.
Just get an external case and be done with it!
