Is this a good upgrade.
What kind of programs would I notice a difference in
I know the 6300 has about double the passmark score, but how significant will this be.
Also will a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2gb ddr5 be a good card to pair with the CPU?
Thanks

A rather significant difference according to several tests conducted over at Anandtech.

It will be a very significant upgrade. Also I think the HD 7850 will fit nicely there. Good luck.

Its a good upgrade. Totally worth doing. I had an Athlon II X4 645 and upgraded to an FX 8120 early last year. I kind of wish I waited for piledriver but it was still a worthwhile upgrade. I get much better performance. Athlon II X4's are pretty poor for gaming. Do you have an AM3+ board already? It would be a smooth process if that's the case. I love how AMD makes things backward compatible like that. It's really great. Those upgrades will noticeably improve your gaming performance.
