Hello,

I have a Dell C1100 that works fine with 250gb SATA drive @ 3Gb/s when i try to use my 146GB 3Gb/s SAS drives I get no joy. The lights for the drives are on the front pane of the server but the bios is not picking anything up. Any Idea.

What kind of RAID or SAS controller do you have in the server? It's possible you have a SATA controller but not a SAS controller, which will not be able to recognize the drive. I believe the base configuration of these servers comes with just an onboard SATA and you would actually need to purchase an upgraded PERC controller for SAS compatibility.

Seems like you are right. Would have been nice if SAS came standared. Just means i can get really big drives for a fraction of the cost then :)
