Two months ago, I bought a WD My Passport for Mac 500gb. Now the disk won't mount, and will only be detected in disk utility, not the finder. I think the drive may have accidentally been unplugged from my laptop during a file transfer. I have looked at some data recovery software options and used some free trials, and they show me the files, but wont let me access them. These all cost at least $90, and I was hoping for a free, or at least cheaper option. Please help, I really need those files. I know it was stupid not to have a backup, but I thought it would be ok since the drive was so new. Thanks in advance!
