sabertooth z77 how to up ram speed 1333 to 16xx

need a little help, i have sabertooth z77 and cosair 8gb ram vengeance. this ram's speed 1333mhz and how i increase to 1600 my motherbaord supports 18xx

What is your RAM's default speed? If its default speed is 1600Mhz then it's just a simple adjustment in the motherboard's BIOS. It your RAM runs at a default speed of 1333Mhz you may need to increase the voltage on your ram to achieve your desired 1600MHz.

However Corsair makes really good RAM, even if its default speed is 1333MHz, I'd imagine you could ramp it up to 1600MHz with out adjusting the volts.

Go to advaNce mode in the bios. Click on the ai tab...scroll down and look for xmp profile. Turn it on and save it and reboot. Go into windows run Cpuz check that ram running xmp mode.

With the Sabertooth, enable XMP and select Profile 1 (ignore profile 2)...and the mobo can handle faster DRAM, have run them with 2400 sticks (even under XMP)
