Hi,

I need to add a second monitor to my Samsung S24B300HL (60hz), currently connected by HDMI for gaming. I'll only use a cheap 60hz monitor at 1920 x1080.

- Will using mini displayport to displayport be the best option? (second monitor I'm looking at has displayport and DVI input)
- I'll game on the first monitor, and only use the second for minor tasks and software such as Teamspeak, web browsing etc. Should I expect any performance hits, framerate or otherwise, from my card?

Thanks

the displayport or DVI should be fine. With a 7970 you wont see a lot of difference if you're not spreading the resolution across both monitors. You will see a little difference if you've other applications running side by side with something thats processor intensive like a modern game, but if you've a 7970 I'm presuming you've a decent CPU and RAM too so it shouldn't be anything that you'd notice too much.

I havent been keeping up with AMD CPUs lately, but that'll easily handle a few non intensive tasks running simultaneously. it's essentially got 8cores @4ghz so it should be able to handle a few tasks.
