My build paranoia

Hi,
I'm really paranoid about my first build. I ordered the parts and etc. I have some parts now. But because of where I live it will be hard if i have to return parts.

I've started freaking out since i handled the gpu and touched the pcb without discharging myself on anything. Is this okay??

Also I'm worried about screwing things up during the build, i always find a way. Is there any precautions you can recommend, something maybe first timers might do that I shouldnt? What if it just doesn't boot?

thanks :)

Meh, you'll be fine. Handle the PCBs by the edges and you have nothing to worry about. Don't wear socks on carpet, stuff like that. Just discharge yourself on the case and you'll never have any issues with static. (even though I routinely forget this and haven't broken anything yet)

I'm not saying these parts are to just be thrown around, but... PC parts aren't as fragile as people make them out to be. You have to be careful not to scratch them but its not like trying to fix up an space ship in space.

just take your time when build, i usually wear an anti static wristband but if you dont have one ive seen people just use rubberbands. When you are building just have a Youtube video playing next to you and follow the steps they do and just pause till you are ready to move on. If it doesnt boot then just post a thread on hear and state the problem and im sure you will have people willing to troubleshoot the issue until it is fixed.

For the touching the PCB, i would say you should be ok. As long as nothing was plugged in and im somewhat sure that you would have been grounded so that you wouldnt have done any harm but you cant be to sure until you finish the build.
