So I want to build a pc and get the most gaming performance out of it, but I also want a future-proof pc that will last for at least 3 years, even if it's lowest settings and resolution. This will be my final decision. Which one of these choices would you go for?

- i5 3470 , ASUS P8Z77-V LK and GTX 660;

-i5 3570k, ASUS P8Z77-V and GTX 650 Ti 1gb;

-i5 3570k, ASUS P8Z77-V LK and gtx 650 ti boost;

The reason why I chose Z77 chipset with non-overclockable CPU is because in the future if I get a overclockable CPU, I have a chipset that can do it. In case I go with the third option, will the LK motherboard be enough for a slight overclock? Because even if I go with the second one I won't overclock much, my target is around 4.1 / 4.2 ghz. I know that the first option will give me more performance, but I want a future proof system and I will only game on a 1360x768 resolution. What's your income on this? Thanks.

You can get a small performance boost overclocking a CPU. But any of the i5 CPU and a high end gpu going to give you a long life. The build I posted shows all the combo deals with the newer i5 and a locked mb. Your better off doing tht and using extra cash for a better gpu or an Ssd. The 1155 CPU is a dead slot. If intel leaked charts are right there will be a refresh next year on the 1150 chipset mb.

Also It's not quite 720p is a bit higher. Alright right now I have: i5 3470, corsair 8gb ram (2x4) , msi twin frozr gtx 660, corsair cx 500 modular. Now I'm looking for a good budget motherboard for around 130 / 140 $ with a z77 chipset and good quality build, good overclocking and heatsinks / VRMs and enough power phases for a decent overclock around 4.2 ghz, in case I get a better cpu later. Asrock z77 extreme4 not included, because despite being a good overclocker and having many features, it is known for being flimsy and having bad VRMs. help please

(Intel Core i5-3470 Ivy Bridge ) + (motherboard for around 130 / 140 $ with a z77 chipset) + (msi twin frozr gtx 660) + (corsair 8gb ram (2x4))

equals

AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W +

Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ +

Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866MHz +

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB +

$20 - $40 in your pocket

With a little imagination, you could even tweak that into an EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB if you were so inclined, without really trying ....

or, an AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.0GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ for $145 with promo code EMCXNWP32 ....

not to mention, the Asus M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ for $85 with code EMCXNWP39, with which you could pair the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb along with the G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866MHz for $66 with promo code EMCXNWP43 ...

Which would leave you $350, and all kinds of options for your video card in addition to an SSD.

That was easy.
