Hello, I had my secure internet access, and my brother hit the reset button on my Linksys WRT54G ver. 6 router and now I can't get it back to a secure connection. I've tried connecting to the 192.168.1.1 but it keeps asking for a username and password. I've entered "admin" in all different ways and also tried "password" and it's still not letting me get into the site. I don't know how to change this. I did not get a CD with this router. Please help. Thank you.

Solution
try username: <empty> (no username entered)
password: admin

You may need to be connected via ethernet cable/port rather than wirelessly.
You may need to do a 30/30/30 (hard reset) to get it to work.
While on press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, unplug and continue to hold for 30 seconds, plug in and continue to hold for 30 seconds. (90 seconds of continuously holding reset for the entire process)
Then try again to log in.
If that doesn't work ensure you have deleted your browser's cache and try again or if you use FireFox/Chrome, try launching IE and logging in with IE.
Power off the router then hold the reset button in and power on. The unit right now may not be reset. If you can't log on with a hard wired pc you can Dowload the setup software from the router vendor web page.
Some routers use admin and admin twice or enter for the password.

I've tried that. I can't get access to the router web page. I've tried admin, password and enter, once, twice, all different combinations. Nothing is letting me into the page.

I had it hard wired. I had to hold in the reset button, unplug it while still holding in the reset button, wait 10 seconds, plug back in while still holding the reset button, wait 10 more seconds and that reset the router web page. I was able to get in leaving the username empty and typing admin for the password. I guess I didn't hold in the reset button long enough the first time. Thank you all for all your help.
