Already own one, thought about buying a second one (pretty cheap now) instead of buying a new expensive card.

Power supply: SeaSonic 620W 80 Bronze Plus
Case: Fractal Design Core 3000

My motherboard is suitable for CF.

Thanks for anyone that helps.

Your system should have no problem crossfiring those cards. SeaSonic makes great PSUs that will output what they are rated for, and 620W is plenty for two 6870s. Your case has enough room and as long as your MoBo is suitable like you say it is there shouldn't be a problem.
Good luck.

Cool, thanks a lot.
Do you recommend doing so instead of buying a new graphic card?
I tried to look on-line for a list of games that support Cross-Fire without much success (found old 2009-10 lists).
I just bought Tomb Raider, Dishonored, Borderlands 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. Do you know if these games support CF?

Thanks again. :)

And thus you have discovered the problem with crossfire vs a single card. All games will support a single card, but only some fully support crossfire. :D

I would consider selling your current card, putting that amount with what you would spend on another 6870, and getting a single more powerful card. ;)

A lot depends on the resolution that you are running at, as to whether you need a more powerful solution at all.

Good Luck!

Sorry for the late response.
There isn't a comprehensive list that is easily found, but I CAN tell you that most AMD gaming evolved games (which include Tomb Raider and Borderlands 2) fully support crossfire. I know that Fallout: New Vegas will allow you to run the game and any game produced since 2012 will most likely support crossfire. The safest way to go about this issue is to check online for any problems with games (for example, I had a single 7950 running Arkham City without issue, however once I added my second 7950 I would get crashes every 5 minutes or so).
As to whether you should get one or two cards, I always suggest one card over two if it fits your budget. When I purchased my first 7950, I could have gone with GTX 560 TIs in SLi and gotten better performance for only a few more dollars, however I am glad that I got my 7950 as later on I was able to add a second.
Good luck.
