I was looking for a new PSU because i suspect i'm having problems with mine, which came along with the case. It is an "OverCase MA6600 of 600W".

I'm running an FX-6100 at 4.0Ghz and a Sapphire HD 7950 at 1080/1500Mhz. I've been experiencing some shut-downs while playing, and because of the low reliability i have on my actual PSU, my first thought was to change it for a new one.

1- What do you think about my actual PSU? It's definitely insufficient for my components?

2- What about this PSU?: http://products.xfxforce.com/en-us/Power_Supply/ProSeries_850W_PSU/P1-850S-NLB9

I really appreciate your help.

Solution
On your old power supply check if there more then one 12v rail. If there is then your system pulling more power the the split rail can give. The new ps is a good unit but it over kill the 75ow unit will be fine.

Please, excuse my ignorance but, what do you mean with "overkill"?

I've already bought the GPU i wanted, but since my intention is playing next-gen games properly, i don't know if i'll have to keep upgrading my PC and if that will demand even more power than it does now.

What do you think?

Thanks so much.
