This has happened 3 times in the past week:

When I was downloading a game on steam
When I clicked on a link on skype
While watching a livestream (HotshotGG)

In all occurrences there was no BSOD. I have already updated my LAN driver.
Is there anything else I haven't tried yet?

Specs:

i3 3220 CPU
GTX 660 GPU
G.Skill 2x4 gb RAM
Seagate barracuda 1tb HDD
Asus B75M-A motherboard

Solution
Make sure the mb bios has the newest bios code to rule out ram bug. With asus mb make sure your running in standard mode. Performance mode can cause system hangs. Check that xmp profile in the bios is turned on. Check that your ram dimms are locked down. Run malware bytes sweep. Check that you don't have two anti virus software loaded. if your using firefox and avg or avast anti virus try turning off there save search and toolbar features in Firefox. If your using ie try another browser. Run hdtune read your hard drive for smart warning. Make a boot disk run memtest on your system.

I think following your advice has worked. My computer didn't freeze all day yesterday. Thanks for the support!
