I literally spent months trying to get crossfire to work. After buying a new Mobo, and working around a few problems, i finally got it to work. After launching it, games performed worse. Could someone please tell my why, and maybe how to fix it?

Solution

You mention about cross fire so i think he mistakes that with regular cross fire system. What you're talking about i believe is not cross fire but amd dual graphic technology which combining the gpu portion of the apu with compatible discrete gpu. I dont think you understand. I am pairing a gpu with a apu. While running the gpu by itself, it is ok. While pairing them it is worse, which makes no sense.

Have you checked if your gpu are compatible with your apu for dual graphic combination? Also try using different driver to see if that can fix your problem

ok that makes sense. I was unaware that there were 2 kinda of crossfires. Sorry my bad. But I know the apu and gpu are compatible, it says on the box. I will try different drivers, do u recommend which ones i should install?

Which driver version you're using right now? Normally people want the latest WHQL one. If ypu dont mind using beta driver then grab the latest beta. If that's not working fot you try using older driver. Btw i forgot to ask did the problem happen to all games?

All of the games that i tried it with did. Besides game lag there was just a normal lag on login. Also should i get the driver for the gpu or apu?

did both have separate drivers? AFAIK they got unified into AMD Catalyst Driver Suite. i look up at AMD site they mention this:

Feature Highlights of AMD Catalyst™ 13.6 Beta2 for Windows®:

Improves performance in PCMark 7 and PCMark 8 on the new AMD A10, A8, A6, and A4 Series APUs for desktop and mobile platforms.
Resolves HDMI Audio drop-out issues on the AMD Radeon HD Series of products.

Ok, so I decided to just buy a completely new graphics card. Thanks for the help though!
