Hey guys,

I am building my first pc. I purchased my pieces based on this guide (http://www.build-gaming-computers.com/), using the "budget build" but opting for both of the higher-end alternatives that were suggested for the CPU and the GPU (I found that this worked out well, because it was still relatively cheap but it didn't seem like I would need to upgrade it for a while), and most of my parts have already arrived. However, when I was looking over my parts, I noticed that my videocard said "Requires 350 watts or higher" but my power supply only says 330 watts and, after reading this thread here (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/379705-33-corsair-cx4...), I am a little afraid to put it in D:

Here is a rough list of what I have now: (not sure how many of them can be returned, so be nice :p )
Motherboard
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+
CPU
AMD FX-8120
Video card
EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti (2GB)
Power supply
Corsair CX430 V2 Series 430 Watt
Ram
Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model KHX1333C9D3B1/4G
Hard drive
Western Digital Blue 1TB (7200 RPM, 64MB Cache)
Optical drive
Lite-On Internal DVD Writer
Case
Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower

CPU fan (I heard that the CPU's stock fan was really loud)
ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

PS. I know that some people on that other thread said that you simply don't have enough six-pin connectors on this power supply, but the GPU comes with two 4-pin-to-6-pin connectors and i have plenty of 4-pins on my PSU, so i don't think that should be a problem from a wiring perspective, it is the wattage and such that concerns me about the long term.

So, will this psu be ok to install as long as I don't overclock, or would it be safer to use another? If so, which would you suggest? And do you see any other issues with this build, or should I be all set after this?

Also, I'm hoping to get building soon, I have a few time restrictions to deal with as well, such as how I believe Newegg will only replace broken parts if you notify them within seven days of delivery, so would it be safe to go ahead and install everything with the PSU to make sure everything works and then just not do anything taxing on it until the new PSU arrives?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is a little disorganized, but I just have so many question! :)

Yes it will work but it is safe to get at least a 550/600W PSU. So there will be some room to play with. The PSU you are getting now is a bare minimum for your system.

One more thing 4pin to 6pin connector/adapter is not a good thing to work with. So it is better to get a PSU that will provide enough PCI connectors.

650w at least.

NewEgg had an OCZ Mod Extreme Pro 700w on sale recently for $65 or so. Maybe see if something like that is still available?

Also, Get an FX 8320, not the FX 8120. 8120 = older Bulldozer core and their performance/efficiency is poor. The 8320 is a Vishera core and is better.

You're fine as long as you don't overclock. If the PC shuts off while gaming, then get a beefier PSU.

I agree get the 8320. I dont recomend the ocz modxtreme pro 700w. I have a 600w version and it failed after less than a year.

The GTX660ti would most likely be ok on that PSU. That said it would be better to have 550w or so for more headroom.

By the way, what is the worst case scerario if I went ahead and installed this powersupply and I accidentally demanded to much of it? Would my pc just freeze whenever I tried, or would it ruin the rest of my parts of start smoking or something?

Well, I already bought the 8120. How much of a difference is there between them? Is the 8320 more of something that I should consider if I really want to push it, or is it such a big difference that I should try to send this one back and trade it for that one?

Actually, after looking at newegg's return policy for CPUs, it looks like I can't get a refund. It looks like it's only a 10% difference, however, so I'll probably just stick with this one and maybe get an even better one later. But thanks for the tip :)

Worst case is you could let the magic smoke out of the power supply.

But more likely it would just shutdown or reboot under load.
