Problem solved. I just changed the Windows 7 audio settings and it seemed to work out fine.

Hi, I went to the control panel, then hardware and sound, then manage audio devices, on the playback tab you should have an option for either the speakers on your pc or the plugged in headphones. Right click on the desired one and click enable. That should get it working, hope i helped

It seems my problem is slightly different.
My Front audio Jack detection has issues. I have to change the default device manually - it just refuses to mute the speakers when I plug the Headphones in.
It worked with my old MB, so I am certain it's the new MB. Double checked the BIOS settings and tried out 3 different drivers.
