Hello, I recently built my pc with an asrock extreme4 z77 which has Realtek HD audio installed. However the front audio jack is non functioning. The back one plays music fine but the front one refuses to play. Are there any fixes? My drivers are up to date and my headphones are working fine.

Thanks

Hi, I went to the control panel, then hardware and sound, then manage audio devices, on the playback tab you should have an option for either the speakers on your pc or the plugged in headphones. Right click on the desired one and click enable. That should get it working, hope i helped :)

Thank you for the fast reply.

It seems my problem is slightly different. :(

My Front audio Jack detection has issues. I have to change the default device manually - it just refuses to mute the speakers when I plug the Headphones in.
It worked with my old MB, so I am certain it's the new MB. Double checked the BIOS settings and tried out 3 different drivers.

My Realtek Control:

The "advanced" settings:

This is how it should look like:

Would appreciate any ideas.

Hi, I can only really think of 2 things.
1) try reinstalling your mobo and realtek drivers.
2) make sure the speakers are disabled and your headphones are enabled. also try plugging your headphone through your monitor and the audio from the monitor/speakers attached to the monitor may transfer?
