Hi all,

I'm very new to the world of PC gaming, I've always been a console man, but seeing what the PC has to offer in gaming both graphically and MODS etc I decided it seems more fun playing on the PC. So I built one with this in mind: I wanted my PC to be equivalent if not better than the new next gen consoles that are coming out such as PS4, XBOX ONE so I could max out such new games like watch dogs etc. Ill post some of my specs if more info needed let me know and perhaps you guys could tell me, Id very much appreciate it :D

intel quad core i5-3470 CPU 3.20 GHz
GTX 680 graphics card
1 TB hardrive
8 GB RAM

Cheers

What resolution screen are you using? If it's a standard 1920X1080 you should be able to run most games on max/ultra. Have fun with your new rig.

I agree. If you are playing on 1080p, then your rig is already better than the "next-gen" consoles coming out later this fall.

game consoles

not exactly you have a 4 cores the Xbox one has an 8 core CPU and i'm not for share on this PS4 has a 8 GB GDDR5 GPU look it up on Wikipedia but you can custom your computer to do all of that too and you can do, 2, screens or more. but i keep on saying this so I'm going to copy this you can play 2 players or more on 1 game console you can play the PS move or the xbox kinect and can move a game console easier then a big gaming PC. The Xbox One will support 4K resolution (3840×2160) (2160p)

As some others said, your pc will stomp the ever living crap out of the upcoming consoles. THERE IS NO CONTEST....PERIOD. wacko fan boys will try to bs you, but it is just that.....bs. The consoles are getting better, but they are still pretty far behind high/higher-end pcs. Even graphics is still pretty far behind pcs. There are videos that compare a ps4 to a pc, the pc won by a pretty big difference in details.

Yeah, your PC will run circles around the next gen. You'll be playing games on very high/ultra while they are playing on low settings.

I would recommend getting a new hard drive.

Samsung 840 PRO 256 GB is really good for gaming and other things.
