laptop upgrading help

Doubtful. You'd have to find a slightly different version of the exact same laptop (that allows more RAM) for that to be possible.

All the pieces in a laptop are designed around each other. Case, motherboard, cooling, ports, connections, screw holes...all working together. You can't just swap in another one.

Upgradability is one of the tradeoffs for weight and portability.

What's the reason you want to upgrade it? 2gbs usually works good with any OS unless you plan to run a lot of applications at once, or if you use it for gaming. Laptops aren't good for these types of things anyway unless it's a really expensive laptop.

what is the model of your laptop?

firstly you cannot change processor in a laptop. you CAN upgrade RAM (most laptop support 4GB, unless its 4yr old) and add SSD. 2GB for me is too less, even for browsing on multiple tabbs. maybe 4GB will do you good. but the most performance you will get is out of a SSD.

SSD upgrade is expensive. what I did was a swaped my 500GB for an 90 GB SSD. than removed DVD drive and placed the 500 GB HDD in there using a 'dock'
