need advise on selling 5870 and other things

im not on here to sell my thing. thats what craigslist is for, which brings me to my inquiry.

how much should i let go of my visiontek 5870 for?

i did a quick search and found 3 adds. one for 100, another for 150 and another for 180. but gogle revealed that the apple store is selling the 5870 upgrade for 450.

im thinking 150 would be good. my girlfriend and I are kinda hard up for cash. im a struggling musician/dj and time is kinda of the essence.

also, would it be better to sell my whole rig or go piece by piece?

my parts list is as follows:

antec sonata case
asus rampage iii gene mobo
core i5 760
visiontek 5870
asus dvd rw-dl
4gb g skill ram
corsair 750 watt PSU

i have no means to backup my hard drive so im just going to keep that.

Hi there,

I would advise to sell piece by piece as you will probably get more that way. All the components apart from DVD player (forget about it really) are good quality on their own and will attract buyers. I'm in UK atm so I would suggest using ebay as I think you can be more manipulating as a seller, however maybe craigslist is better now Stateside? On ebay you can just check the "buy it now" prices and undercut the competition for a relatively quick sell at what is probably a far to high price. I personally never "buy it now" on ebay because it is a rip off compared to bids, but I know a lot of people who lack the patience to bid and buy things on impulse from ebay. You probably won't find anyone smart enough to by a dedicated GPU and install it into their PC who is dumb enough to pay close to $450 for it when a 7850 is faster and only costs around $200 new.
