Gtx 780 or Gtx 670 SLI? Is my PSU good enough?

So this is my current build.

i5-3570k (Not overclocked yet, plan to overclock to 4.2ghz tomorrow using Hyper 212 heatsink)

8GB Ram

1920 x 10870 Resolution

Asus P8Z77-V

This is my power supply at the moment.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Now I want to upgrade to either a Gtx 780 or Gtx 670 SLI... I am leaning toward the Gtx 780 since I can just purchase another in 12 months and have two of them SLI. But I am not sure if my PSU will be able to handle everything I have, if not could someone recommend a good PSU for the build I plan on having?

Adding up your components they total less than 200W at least according to PCPartpicker.com. If you go with a GTX780 it will push you into about 430W. If you are single game monitoring it seems to be a bit of a waste. A single GTX770 can max out anything out there and you could go for SLI in a year like you initially suggested if it can't max out anything then. If you do plan on going to an SLI setup though in the future you should get a more powerful PSU when you order the second GPU.

So I would be able to use a Gtx 780 or even Gtx 670 SLI?

I am doubting the Gtx 770 since I recently had one and it was faulty. ( Displayed artifacts while in-game, occurred on more than one game) I also did not see a huge increase in FPS or even image quality compared to my old Gtx 560 which is why I am doubting if I should even get another 770.. I had the Zotac Gtx 770 if you are wondering by the way, and could consider purchasing another one if I was sure I would receive a great improvement compared to my 560, which I didn't see recently.

A GTX670 SLI Configuration would exceed 520W. So your PSU could not handle that. I would get a good 750W from Seasonic, XFX, or any of the other top brands of PSUs if you want to go that way. As far as the artifacting with the GTX770 I don't understand why it would be doing that but if you think that it does not have enough power than go for the GTX780. Just know that you are going to be stressing your PSU at over 80% load when you are running it which will probably shorten its life. I would just recommend that whatever GTx setup you use get a good name brand like Asus, EVGA as the cheaper one's generally have more issues.

I will probably go for a Gigabyte or MSI Gtx 770 as I currently have a Gigabyte Gtx 560 and it has exceeded my expectations.

Both are reputable card makers. Enjoy your new GPU.
