Would you recommend a Radeon HD 6770 in 2013?

I'm actually slowly purchasing the components for my first budget build. I've got a very tight budget.

The system will be mainly used for Photo editing (Lots of Photoediting), and gaming. In terms of gaming, 720 is excellent for me.

Went to a local store and saw a 6770 for about $88. Would you recommend it?
I also saw 7770 at another store which costs $110. The $20 difference, i could use it to get a max of 8GB of ram for the system or perhaps a better PSU.

What do you think?

Right now i only have the motherboard (Asrock n68-Vs3 FX) and an Athlon x3 455 rana 3.3ghz processor.

6770 in some ways is more powerful then a 7770, so it's a no brainer to purchase it especially if it's cheaper. My brother has a budget computer with a phenom x4 960 combined with a 6770. It run's every game at decent settings. He was able to play Prototype 2 on high settings.

I would recommend the 7770 / 7750 before the 6770 any day, even with those price differences.
Any reason you don't want nVidia (and therefore CUDA)?

Since you have a very tight budget, I think that you would better off saving the $22. The 6770 would be fine for 720p gaming, playing most games on max-medium resolutions.

Where do you see the 6770 being better than the 7770?

The 7770 crushes the 6770 in every benchmark except AESEncryptDecrypt.

Buy the following Radeon HD 7770 for $80 after rebate. Generally speaking, the HD 7770 is close to a HD 6850.

Maybe I'm thinking 5770 compared to 6770 but yeah, It's hard to argue those benchmarks definitely go for the 7770.

A Radeon HD 6770 is simply a rebranded Radeon HD 5770 with probably an updated HDMI port.

Dude the link you showed is a comparison of The HD 7770 and a 6670. Not a 6770.
6670 & 6770 totally different cards.

Sorry, I did pick the wrong card and they don't have the 6770 at Anatech.

Or anyone else can use google too and come up with their own conclusion.

Using the link you just showed, is it worth spending the extra $20 for the 7770?

The link you provided is flawed. Your link is the Radeon HD 6670 vs HD 7770(There is a big difference between the 6670 and the 6770. but i still agree that the 7770 is better than the 6770.
